About me

meMy name is Hans Róbert Hlynsson. I’m am originally from Iceland and currently live in London, England working as a Risk Analyst for Risk Management Solutions. Throughout my life I’ve made it my aspiration to be the best at what I enjoy and this mentality has driven me through life. I am passionate about finance, technology, programming and athletics.

As a person I’m a total nerd but view it as a positive thing. I enjoy spending my time studying and discussing things that attain to my core skill set. I like reading books, articles and papers on economic and financial topics as well as using and furthering my skills in programming. In addition to the previously mentioned topics I have also spend considerable time reading about and acting upon issues related to health, mostly nutrition and methods of maximizing strength and endurance.

I’m not only all about maximizing my knowledge though. I also enjoy running, weightlifting, playing squash, reading fiction, watching movies and doing various graphical design projects.

  • Working for the Capital Markets business unit in providing consulting, analytical- and software solutions for the issuers and buyers of Insurance Linked Securities

Humac ehf. / Apple IMC Sales representative 2005-2008

  • Sold hardware and software products as a part-time sales representative for both retail stores and corporate sales.
  • Took over as store manager for the company in summer 2008 to organize and oversee the merger of the retail stores to one large store in one of Iceland’s largest shopping centers.

Reykjavik University Part-time teacher 2007-2008

  • Taught tutorial classes in linear algebra in 2007 and calculus in 2008 with 25 to 30 students in each class.
  • Organized multiple Matlab workshops on my own initiative for up to 100 students at a time.

Arion Custody Services hf. Internship 2007

  • Worked in Pension fund administration where I maintained quality control for asset management of numerous small pension funds.
  • Managed pension fund index rate registration and produced analyses about changes in index rates.
