How good is your hearing?
Posted on Mar 8, 2009 in HealthTwo weeks back NoiseAddicts raised the question of whether or not people have retained their hearing by posting this high frequency sound file which can be heard by most people under the age of 25 but not many over the age of 25. This week they have however put together a list of frequencies from 8 kHz to 22 kHz, so you can see how good your hearing is. They note that it’s common for people over the age of 25 not to be able to hear over 15 kHz.
At 23 I was able to hear 16 kHz clearly but nothing beyond that. So how good is your hearing?
8 kHz, 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 14 kHz, 15 kHz, 16 kHz,
17 kHz, 18 kHz, 19 kHz, 20 kHz, 21 kHz, 22 kHz

At almost eighteen years old, the highest I hear is 18kHz. I think I can almost hear 19kHz, but it’s a stretch.
Count yourself lucky, that’s less annoying high-pitched sounds you have to bear. ;]
Ég heyri 17 mjög vel og 18 lauslega, ekkert yfir það.
