Oktoberfest

After a hard week of studying we got off to a great start last Friday by beginning to drink around 3 o’clock. Me, Örvar, Helgi, Bjöggi and Addi got together at Búllan in Hafnarfjörður and got ourselves some burgers and a few beers. Bjöggi was going to go somewhere on his own so he left our to “venture forth” on our own. We started by going off to Helgi’s place and from there we went on our science trip to Marel. The trip went really well and I enjoyed seeing how the company produces it’s machines and most of the information I got during the introduction was interesting (at least much more so than the previous science trip to Mastercard). Then after having a guided tour around the company we were served beers and some food. We didn’t stay there for long and after a few minutes we headed out to the bus and went on our way downtown to Oktoberfest which was held in a large tent outside of Háskóli Íslands. There everyone started downing beers in large jugs and everyone had a great time and most of us stayed together but of course one had to go around a bit and say hello to some of the people there because that was one big crowd and I met a bunch of my friends.

On Saturday me and Sara had decided to just stay in and relax since she had to stay at home and watch over her little brother, so I went over to her place after work and she cooked some pasta for dinner and then we just sat about and talked for a while, ate some cheese and grapes and drank some red wine.

This morning I had to get up early to go finish off a group project we’d been working on in physics but of course I set the clock wrong so I showed up late… but what I flunked in tardiness I made up in work so everyone seemed happy. After we finished the project I went home to goof around a bit and play some Playstation, I tried out the demo disk from OPM #98 which contained some of the worst demos around and gave me a good list of games that I should never waste my time with: Crash Tag Team Racing, Moto GP 4, Rainbow Six Lockdown, Steel Lancer Arena International, Star Wars Battlefront II, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, Urban Reign. It also contained demos for Soul Calibur III, which looks pretty cool and Indigo Prophecy which I’m already playing and plan on playing when I have time. But now I’m back at school and hope to finish off some of the backlog in math problems I’ve managed to round up.
