The end of derivatives
Posted on Apr 10, 2006 in BlogI wasn’t very optimistic when I woke up on Friday but the day progressed fairly well in some ways and worse in others. I started off the day by going to school to finish off the darn studying I needed to do for the financial engineering exam. Then I finally went to the exam at two o’clock after having been worried about it for days and only going home from school to sleep for the past couple of days. Then when I finally started the exam it come out that the exam was actually fair and not that hard at all. Which was a great relive because most of us had been setting ourselves up for a horrible exam along side of the projects we had to turn in through the semester. After the exam the first thing we did was drink some beers, I had brought three with me to the exam and me, Bjöggi and Helgi each had one.
After the exam I went to see Sara, we decided to end our relationship because the long distance thing didn’t seem to be working out. It was kind of an erupt ending to a fairly long relationship but it was the right thing to do since we had obviously grown apart.
In the evening I went out to Grillið to eat with the family because it was my parents wedding anniversary. I had some great meals, I tried out kangaroo meat as an appetizer and then had a mixed disk of veal, lamb and lobster as the main course. After dinner I went downtown to Hressó to meet up with Bjöggi, Magga and Helgi who had been with some of Magga’s friends out to dinner at Tapas. We had a few drinks together and were joined by Sigrún, Héðinn and Marri. We however decided that it was a good choice to go home early so we left around two o’clock although Helgi had left earlier after stunning us all by declining beer!
On Saturday I had to work like usually which was kinda hectic and there was way to many people that showed up because of these darn confirmations that are going on right now, everyone wants a iPod or iBook…
In the evening I went to Árni’s birthday party which was great. The thing started of slowly with the required beer drinking. Árni got some awesome nose clippers and of course he was forced to try them out. After a while we went for a drinking game that involved throwing plastic pigs and drinking a number of sips of your drink in order of how the pig landed with the change to pass it on or double the sips by throwing an additional pig and hoping for it to land in the same position. A really fun game if you ask me but I think the count went a bit off in the latter parts of the game. After spending a good amount of time at Árni’s we headed downtown and went around the bars like usually, Árni decided to go home around five but I went on for a while longer and met up with Maggi and a few mates after all the places were closing down. We grabbed some Hlölli and headed home in a taxi around seven thirty in the morning. I was suppose to go to work to take care of tallying at eleven so I skipped sleeping although I fell asleep for about thirty minutes in front of the computer and then headed straight to work to tally for nine whole hours. At the same time I finally took a decision to get a new computer and got myself a MacBook Pro which is freaking awesome.
Now there is only the software engineering exam to study for tomorrow, I’ll most likely put it off until tonight since I’d like to spend some time getting the new computer up to a usable setup.
