Til Hamingju Ísland
Posted on Feb 21, 2006 in BlogLast Saturday there was the selection show for which song would be Icelands submission to the European song contest Eurovision. I went to a small get together because of course you can’t watch these kind of things at home and without alcohol. Everyone pretty much knew who was going to win and of course it turned out to be right and the selected song was Til Hamingju Ísland performed by Silvía Nótt which won with ~70.000 votes out of ~100.000. Still knowing who would win didn’t stop us from making fun of the other singers and songs which didn’t stand a chance against the winning song. It felt a bit weird to be there because the everyone there was at least half a decade older than I, but I had great fun despite having been forced to listening to myself singing from two weeks ago (Tommi recorded my performance in Sing Star from the Apple opening party after-party, grrr). We mostly just sat around and chatted after the show and later on headed downtown where I got “dragged” into a strip joint with three of my fellow employees at Apple. We left around 4 o’clock and I was planing to take a Taxi home but was fortunate enough to run into a few mates of mine and got a lift with them saving a bit of cash.
Some pictures from the get together
