Star Wars KOTOR II

I managed to finish Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic II: Sith Lords yesterday after spending a month on and off on it, clocking in at 32 hours, one hour less than when I played KOTOR I last year. Obsidian really did a good job with KOTORII after taking over from BioWare’s build of KOTOR I. The game’s story take place five year after the first game and you take on the role of a lone person that has been exiled from the Jedi order and lost all his connection to the force. The fact that his connection to the force has been severed will give fact to him ultimately decide the universe’s fate. The story starts of as the exile finds himself stranded on a fuel mining colony having lost some of his memories. But soon regaining himself and ultimately traveling around the universe looking for the last Jedi Knights left in the Galaxy either to seek revenge upon them for his exile or seek their aid, depending on which side of the force you align yourself with. I chose to go with the Dark side and my character turned out to be a evil Sith Lord that would plan to take over the world. On your quest you are joined by a number of different characters ranging from droids to Mandalorians to Jedi to scoundrels. Each character is unique and most have a vivid and interesting back story. The game contains the same mini games as the previous one, swoop racing similar to Episode I’s race and the card game pazaak. The gameplay is mission based and you must complete certain tasks to gain experience and items that advance and help you along your quest. All in all it’s one of my favorite games and I had to force myself to put down the controller at times and one of the sessions lasted over 8 hours, with only a short break for some food. If you want a enjoyable RPG, with a brilliant story, engaging gameplay, awesome characters, impeccable voice acting and great replay value (at least two playthroughs, Dark and Light side).
Rating: 5/5
