TGS 2005

I’ve been reading through some of the stuff that has been announced at the ongoing Tokyo Game Show. There have been some really interesting announcements and news coming out of there. First of was the introduction of the Nintendo’s Revolution controller which is really freaky looking and I’m really interesting in seeing how they will handle it’s use. IGN has an really interesting article about the possibilities of it’s use with current genres:

There were also a bunch of really interesting games that were introduced that I look forward to trying out, first of is Front Mission 5 from Square-Enix even thought I haven’t had the time to play through number 4. Too bad there wasn’t any gameplay info given out only a trailer with CG scenes:

The next game to catch my eye was MGS4: Guns of the Patriots and oh boy was that brilliant. The game looks stunning and this time it stars Solid Snake grown old and Octacon seems to have joined him again to once more battle some evil power planing to build another Metal Gear. This time it take place in a full fledged battleground in the middle of the war with Snake on neither side. I’m so looking forward to this that it hurts.

The next big thing was the great upcoming next gen incarnation of Sonic for X-Box 360 and PS3. The game looks beautiful and stunning but I was kind of surprised by the quick gameplay and it will be interesting to see how it plays out in free form 3D.

Lastly there was Xenosaga 3 for the PS2 which looks like it will be as brilliant as the previous two and I look forward to playing it once it comes out next year. The game will start one year from the end of the second game and will be the last chapter with the current party and previous installments will deal with another party. As for announced gameplay changes there is the fact that battles have been sped up and deathblows have been added. I can’t wait for this game to come out:
