Corpse Bride
Posted on Dec 27, 2005 in MoviesI watched a few films on Christmas day and among those was Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. I was really looking forward to seeing this film because Nightmare before Christmas was so wonderful. But boy was I disappointed because the film turned out to be nowhere near as good as I expected. The film seems to lack any kind of point, it just doesn’t seem to be going anywhere the whole time. It follows a young man who is suppose to get into an arranged marriage but winds up getting married to a corpse. That’s pretty much the whole story. Most of everything that happens has no point and the only thing that keeps the movie remotely a float are a few jokes that count as worthwhile, the best being when the young man goes into the place of the dead and want’s to get back and is given the line: “Why would you want to go up there, when everyone is just dying to get down here”.
