Star Trek XI

I went to see Star Trek XI this weekend and maaaaaaaaan it was good and I’m not just saying that because I like Star Trek as a whole.
The new movie is written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and directed by J.J. Abrams (the man behind the clusterfuck that is Lost). They do a excellent job of revisiting the original Star Trek universe and crew and introduce them to a new generation of fans. The movie tells the tale of how the crew of the Enterprise from the original Star Trek series came together and joined Starfleet and ended up on the Enterprise. It does have some changes from the original series on account of time travelling Romulans messing the timeline up and of course the first mission for the Enterprise and it’s crew is to stop those evil Romulans.
This movie is just brilliant and you don’t have to be a fan of Star Trek at all to enjoy it. The actors do pay a tribute to their counterparties in the original series but the movie does stand ground on its own so it is enjoyable for old and new fans. This is a thrill packed action/adventure sci-fi movie that keeps you at the edge of your seat the whole time. This movie is so perfectly paced you will never know a dull moment in it, the movie has a whole bunch of great action, CGI, serious dialog and humour.
