I saw Terminator Salvation last weekend. The fourth Terminator movie takes place in the year 2018. Each of the previous Terminator movies has changed the future in different ways, each one creates a new timeline and it comes most apparent in this one. The original Judgement Day in T1 was in 1997 but following the changes to the timeline in T2 and T3 Judgement Day happened in 2004 resulting in the T4.

It’s been 14 years since SkyNet became sentient and started it’s war against humanity. John Connor is not the leader of the resistance like he was said to be in the previous films but he’s still a big shot in the resistance and has many followers.

T4 follows the stories of John Connor and Marcus Wright, Connor as a soldier in the resistance against SkyNet and Marcus Wright is a former felon who signed over his body to scientific research back in 2003 but doesn’t remember what happened to him since.

Both the resistance and SkyNet are preparing their final assaults against each respective party and both Connor and Wright must do everything possible to prevent SkyNet from realizing it’s goals.

The movie is pretty good, a standard Terminator action flick with a sufficient technical plot thrown in to keep it interesting. I recommend this to all fans of the previous films.
