There are a few actors that you can always count on to choose roles in films that turn out to be excellent. One of these actors is Robert Downey Jr. Now Jamie Foxx is not one of these sure hit actors but he does have a pretty high hit rating. Consequently it is a good bet that a movie starring these two actors is going to be a good watch and that is surely what The Soloist is.
The Soloist stars Downey as a successful LA Times journalist who comes across a musical servant (Foxx) who is homeless and has schizophrenia. The journalist instantly feels a connection with the musician and decides to write his story in the LA Times. Over the course of the film the two for a friendship as the journalist tries everything in his power to help the unfortunate musician.
The movie is at times a bit slow in unfolding the story and does feel a bit long but it shows a excellent story with an amazing cast so I would easily classify it as a must see.
